Point Pleasant scored in the bottom of the ninth inning to edge past the Wayne Pioneers on Thursday in baseball action.
Wayne got onto the scoreboard first when Logan Prater scored on a wild pitch to make it a 1-0 game. The Pioneers stretched it out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning when Eli Steele and Fisher Fry scored on a Braxton Marcum single.
Point Pleasant battled back to score two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut Wayne’s lead to 3-2. Point Pleasant then tied the game up at 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Wayne retook the lead in the top of the sixth inning when Prater singled home Fry and Austin Porter for a 5-3 lead. Point Pleasant battle back to tie it in the bottom of the sixth before winning in the bottom of the ninth.
Parker Adkins was given the loss on the mound for Wayne.
Wayne will next play on Monday in a game against Mingo Central.
