Tug Valley Bounces Rival Tolsia To Win Sectional Title

The Tug Valley Panthers continued their quest to win a state title as they rolled past rival Tolsia, 62-34, to capture the sectional title on Friday in Naugatuck.

The Panthers (21-3) jumped out to a 21-5 lead after the first period. Tug Valley stretched out the advantage to 35-9 at the intermission. The Rebels (13-10) never mounted a comeback in the second half, and the Panthers captured a sectional title in front of the home fans.

Parker Davis led the Panthers with 15 points. Joey Gollihue and Johnathan Wagner followed with 10 points each. Ashton Davis netted 8 points each. Braydun Ferris scored 6 points. Buddy Marcum dropped in 4 points. Brady Brewer and Kaden Hale added 3 points each. Paul Preece finished with 2 points. Aiden Armstrong chipped in 1 point.

The Rebels were paced by Parker Watts with 19 points. Benjamin Clayton followed with 7 points. Jayson Vanhoose added with 4 points. Dakota Blackburn scored 2 points. Bryson Muncy and Brayden Mollette chipped in 1 point.

Both teams will now play in the Regional Co-championship on Thursday. Tug Valley will host Huntington St. Joe (13-11) while Tolsia will play at Wahama (16-8).
