Laken Williams scored 23 points to help the Martin County Lady Cardinals pick up a 55-52 road win over the Elliott County Lady Lions on Wednesday.
The Lady Cardinals (22-4) got out to a slim 17-15 lead after the first quarter. Martin County extended its lead to 27-22 at the half. The Lady Lions (9-16) battled back to tie the game at 35-35 heading into the final quarter before Martin County pulled it out.
Alyssa Allen followed Williams with 9 points. Katie Marcum added 8 points. Chloe May tossed in 5 points. Kennadi Mollett and Sophie Harless scored 4 points each. Brooke Marcum chipped in 2 points.
Molly Howard led Elliott County with 16 points.
Martin County will next play at Pike County Central on Friday at 7:30 pm.
