Panthers Claw Pirates, 63-48

The 3rd-ranked (Class A) Tug Valley Panthers jumped all over the Belfry Pirates en route to a 63-48 win on Saturday in Naugatuck.

The Panthers (16-3) came out firing on all cylinders, taking a 14-8 lead after the first quarter. Tug Valley dominated the second period, outscoring the Pirates (7-19), 26-8, to take a 40-16 lead at the half. Belfry outscored the Panthers in the second half but never truly challenged them.

Parker Davis led Tug Valley with 24 points. Ashton Davis had 17 points and 5 assists. Buddy Marcum followed with 10 points. Johnathan Wagner dropped in 4 points. Joey Gollihue and Braydun Ferris added 3 points each. Kaden Hale chipped in with 2 points.

Cody Erwin paced Belfry with 19 points. Eric Daniels followed with 10 points. Noah Brown fired in 9 points. Caden Woolum netted 4 points. Cayden Varney and Aidan Burke chipped in 3 points apiece.

The Panthers will next play on Tuesday when they travel to Sherman. Belfry will play at West Carter on Monday.
