Rebels Drop Irish, 73-61

The Tolsia Rebels got off to a great start and held on as they defeated the 10th-ranked (Class A) Huntington St. Joe Fighting Irish, 73-61, on Friday in Huntington.

The Rebels (11-6) jumped out of the gate quickly, taking a 22-14 lead over the Irish (8-7). Tolsia held a 37-28 advantage at the half. The Irish never could overcome Tolsia’s hot start as the Rebels came out with the win.

Parker Watts led the Rebels with 21 points. Benjamin Clayton and Brayden Mollette followed with 16 points each. Bryson Muncy fired in 10 points. David Dingess dropped in 6 points. Colton Austin chipped in 4 points.

Huntington St. Joe was paced by Caden Ehirim’s 36 points. Grady Poynter added 16 points. Marcus Jackson followed with 5 points. Jaden Chen and Isaiah Sanders chipped in 2 points.

Tolsia is scheduled to face Hurricane at 7:30 pm on Tuesday in Hurricane. The Irish will travel to Charleston Catholic for a 7:30 pm clash on Tuesday.
