Miners Beat Man, 72-32

The Ming Central Miners jumped up quickly and never looked back as they throttled the visiting Man Hillbillies, 72-32, on Tuesday.

The Miners (7-9) took off in the opening quarter to take a 16-6 lead. The advantage grew to 33-15 at the half. The Hillbillies (2-10) could never mount a rally, and Mingo Central coasted to the win.

Mingo Central was paced by Jake Cline with 16 points. Ethan Thomason followed with 15 points. Kendan Trent added 13 points. Malaki Sheppard and Caden Porter had 8 points each. Chris Ross dropped in 5 points. Chris Baisden, Tyler Lester and Khoner Bradford added 2 points each. Zander Phillips chipped in 1 point.

Man was led by Chris Isaacs with 18 points. Caleb Vance followed with 6 points. Colton Miller and Michael Ward add 3 points each.

Mingo Central will next play Williamstown on Friday at the Williamson Field House as part of the Hatfield-McCoy Shootout. The opening tip is set for 8 pm.

Man will face Mercer Christian on Thursday at 7:30 pm.
