The Floyd Central Lady Jaguars picked up a quality win on Saturday by defeating the visiting Owsley County Owls, 61-45.
Owsley County (15-6) jumped out to a slim 18-16 lead after the first quarter, but Floyd Central (13-8) battled back to tie the score at 27-27 at the half. The Lady Jaguars busted the game open in the third period by outscoring the Lady Owls, 21-6, for a 48-33 advantage. Floyd Central controlled the game the rest of the way.
Kennedy Harvel led Floyd Central with 25 points. Madilyn Meade followed with 18 points. Riley Compton added 9 points and 13 rebounds. Jada Johnson recorded 6 points and 11 boards. Chelsea Johnson finished with 3 points and 7 assists.
Floyd Central will next play on Tuesday when they visit Johnson Central in a 7:30 pm tipoff.
