Lady Panthers Blow By Danville To Reach All A Semis

The Pikeville Lady Panthers jumped on top early and never let up as they defeated the Danville Lady Admirals, 61-38, on Friday in the Kentucky Girls All A State Tournament in Richmond.

The Lady Panthers (19-4) came out firing on all cylinders and leading the Lady Admirals (19-2), 16-4, after the first quarter. Pikeville extended its lead to 34-15 at the half. From there, the Lady Panthers controlled the action to advance to the semifinals.

Kyera Thornsbury led Pikeville with 22 points. Trinity Rowe followed with 19 points and 10 assists. Leighan Jackson added 8 points. Kristen Whited and Rylee Theiss finished with 6 points. Theiss also had 12 rebounds.

Pikeville will play in the semifinals on Saturday at 8:30 am when they battle Covington Holy Cross.
