Lady Miners Win At Charleston Catholic, 46-38

The top-ranked (Class AA) Mingo Central Lady Miners picked up a huge road victory by downing 9th-ranked Charleston Catholic on Thursday in Charleston.

Mingo Central (13-1) fell behind Charleston Catholic (8-6) 11-9 after the first period and 20-17 at the half. The Lady Miners turned things around in the third quarter, though, and took a 32-30 lead into the final frame. Mingo Central held a 14-8 advantage in the final period to earn the win.

Addie Smith paced the Lady Miners with 21 points. Jenna Sparks followed with 14 points. Madisyn Curry added 9 points and 11 rebounds. Bella Hall chipped in 2 points.

Molly Messer led Charleston Catholic with 16 points. Mary Rushworth finished with 10 points in defeat.

The Lady Miners next play on Saturday when they host Tolsia at 6 pm.
