The 10th-ranked (Class A) Huntington St. Joe Fighting Irish ran past visiting Notre Dame, 63-51, on Tuesday in Huntington.
St. Joe (7-5) jumped out to a 13-10 lead after the first period. St. Joe continued to stretch out the advantage and led Notre Dame (1-14), 36-30 at the half. St. Joe extended its lead to 49-39 after three quarters before outscoring Notre Dame 14-12 in the final frame.
Caden Ehirim led St. Joe with 35 points. Marshall Reynolds followed with 11 points. Isaiah Sanders dropped in 10 points. Grady Poynter added 3 points. Reed Little and Jaden Chen finished with 2 points each.
Notre Dame was paced by Connor Sandreth’s 22 points. Riley Suter followed with 14 points. Gabe Urso fired in 9 points. Ajai Woofter added 6 points.
Huntington St. Joe will next host Rose Hill on Thursday at 7:30 pm.
