The Lawrence County Lady Bulldogs continued their fantastic season with a huge win over Anderson County, 50-46, on Saturday in the Raatz Fence/O’Shea’s Basketball Classic at Mercy Academy.
The Lady Bulldogs (15-4) jumped out to a 15-10 lead after the first quarter, but Anderson County (18-3) stayed close and the teams went into the half with the Lady Bulldogs holding a slim 23-21 advantage. After a back and forth third period, Lawrence County still held a small 38-36 lead. The Lady Bulldogs outscored Anderson County down the stretch to secure the win.
Kensley Feltner led Lawrence County with 26 points and 10 boards. Sophie Adkins followed with 9 points. Kaison Ward had 8 points. Abby Nelson dropped in 5 points. Leandra Curnutte added 2 points in the win.
Lainey Johnson paced Anderson County with 19 points.
Lawrence County will next play on Wednesday when in a 6 pm matchup at Floyd Central.
