Gollihue Leads Tug Valley Past Tolsia, 84-53

Joey Gollihue scored 36 points to lead the 4th-ranked (Class A) Tug Valley Panthers to an impressive 84-53 win over the 9th-ranked (Class A) Tolsia Rebels on Tuesday night at Rebel Arena.

The Panthers (9-3) jumped all over the Rebels (9-6) from the very beginning, taking a 29-17 lead after the first quarter of play. Gollihue scored 15 points in the frame. Tug Valley stretched its lead to 50-30 at the intermission thanks in part to another 11 points from Gollihue, giving him 26 at the intermission. Tug Valley continued to flex its muscle in the third period, holding a 19-9 advantage in the quarter to make it a 69-39 score. The Panthers cruised the rest of the way.

Following Gollihue for the Panthers, Ashton Davis added 18 points. Braydun Ferris and Parker Davis recorded 7 points each with Ferris also added 6 assists. Johnathan Wagner dropped in 6 points. Bryson Elia and Buddy Marcum scored 4 points apiece. Kaden Hale chipped in 2 points in the win.

Tolsia was led by Parker Watts’ 26 points. He was followed by Benjamin Clayton with 11 points. Brayden Mollette netted 9 points. Bryson Muncy dropped in 3 points. Josh Hofmiester and Colton Austin chipped in 2 points each.

The Panthers will next play on Saturday when they host Spring Valley at 7:30 pm. Tolsia plays on Saturday at Mingo Central in a 7:30 pm contest.
