The 3rd-ranked (AA) Chapmanville Tigers jumped all over the visiting Herbert Hoover Huskies and never looked back as they picked up a 71-56 win on Saturday at Chapmanville Regional High School.
The Tigers (10-1) started out hot with a 27-12 advantage in the opening frame. Brody Dalton scored 12 of his game high 27 points in the period. Chapmanville stretched the lead out to 42-24 at the half. The Huskies (7-6) could never quite get back into the contest after that start.
Following Dalton was Sal Dean with 16 pints. Isaiah Smith fired in 11 points. Zion Blevins dropped in 9 points. Devon Workman and Sam Miller scored 3 points each. Eli Smith chipped in 2 points in the win.
Herbert Hoover was paced by Eli Robertson’s 16 points. Dane Hatfield followed with 12 points. Camron Buckner had 9 points. Samuel Phillips dropped in 8 points. Garrett Wentz added 6 points. Elijah Saunders netted 3 points. Donovan Brown chipped in 2 points.
The Tigers will return home on Tuesday for a match up against the Poca Dots.
