Panthers Claw Miners in Mingo County Clash

The 4th-ranked (A) Tug Valley Panthers got 20 points from Joey Gollihue as they downed the home standing Mingo Central Miners on Tuesday on Miner Mountain.

The Panthers (8-3) jumped out to a 17-10 lead after the first quarter and led 32-23 at the half. The Miners (5-6) could never put the Panthers in danger, and Tug Valley took the win home to Naugatuck.

Joey Gollihue led the way for the Panthers with 20 points. Parker Davis followed with 12 points. Johnathan Wagner fired in 8 points. Ashton Davis netted 7 points. Kaden Hale scored 5 points. Buddy Marcum dropped in 4 points. Braydun Ferris finished with 2 points.

For the Miners, Jake Cline led the way with 16 points. Matthew Hatfield added 13 points. Kendan Trent netted 6 points. Ethan Thomason and Chris Ross dropped in 4 points. Malaki Sheppard chipped in 3 points.

Tug Valley next plays on Tuesday when it makes the trip to Tolsia. Mingo Central is scheduled to play at Bluefield on Saturday.
