The Mingo Central Lady Miners used an incredible defensive effort to blow past the Westside Lady Renegades, 57-12, on Saturday.
The Lady Miners (10-1) jumped out to a 10-2 lead after the opening frame and an 18-7 lead at the intermission, but things would get much worse for Westside (6-8). Mingo Central outscored the Lady Renegades, 18-3, in the third period and then cruised to the rest of the way.
Addie Smith led Mingo Central with 19 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. Jenna Sparks followed with 10 points and 3 blocks. Madisyn Curry scored 7 points and pulled down 8 rebounds.
