Lady Miners Clobber Parkersburg Catholic, 42-25

The 3rd-ranked (AA) Mingo Central Lady Miners used a stifling defense to shut down the 2nd-ranked Parkersburg Catholic Crusaderettes, 42-25, on Saturday at Willie Akers Arena in Logan at the Wildcat Classic.

The Lady Miners (8-1), shut down Parkersburg Catholic (6-2) from the onset, taking a 13-4 lead after the first period and a 22-7 lead at the intermission. Mingo Central was able to hold Parkersburg Catholic at bay from there on out.

Addie Smith paced the Lady Miners with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Jenna Sparks followed with 16 points. Megan Adkins recorded 4 points. DaLaney Grimmett had 2 points. Madisyn Curry finished with 1 point and pulled down 6 boards.

Mingo Central next plays on Wednesday against the top-ranked team in AA Wyoming East on Wednesday at Mingo Central. The opening tip is set for 7:30 pm.
