The Mingo Central Miners fell, 50-41, to the visiting 9th-ranked (AA) Wyoming East Warriors on Friday at Mingo Central High School.
After an even first period, Wyoming East (6-1) outscored the Miners, 14-9, to take a 22-17 lead into the half. Both teams had an even third period, but the Warriors used a 20-16 advantage in the final quarter to secure the win.
Mingo Central (4-4) was led in scoring by Jake Cline with 14 points. Matt Hatfield, Malaki Sheppard and Caden Porter dropped in 6 points each. Chris Ross added 5 points. Kendan Trent had 4 points in the loss.
Wyoming East’s Garrett Mitchell led all scorers with 15 points. Cole Lambert and Bryson Hoff added 12 points each. Jackson Danielson scored 8 points. Jacob Howard recorded 3 points.
Mingo Central will next play at River View on Tuesday in a 7:30 pm clash.
