The 7th-ranked (A) Tug Valley Lady Panthers jumped out early and never looked back as they ran past visiting Calhoun County, 53-29, on Friday in Naugatuck.
The Lady Panthers (4-2) jumped out to a 15-8 lead after the first quarter and a 28-12 lead at the half. Tug Valley continued to extend the lead in the second half, outscoring Calhoun County 12-7 in the third period and coasting in the fourth frame for the final margin of victory.
Kenzie Browning and Bailee Hall led the way with 14 points each. Haven Deskins followed with 11 points. Haley Gillman dropped in 7 points. Brooke Spaulding scored 3 points. Kristen Fields and Michela Swan chipped in 2 points each.
Tug Valley next plays on Wednesday at Shelby Valley. The opening tip is set for 7 pm.
