The Betsy Layne Bobcats got off to a hot start start and held on to pick up a 67-59 win over the visiting Knott County Central Patriots on Tuesday.
The Bobcats (10-4) streaked out to a 32-16 lead at the intermission, but the Patriots (4-9) clawed back a bit in the third and fourth quarters to make it a better game. However, Betsy Layne’s lead was too much to overcome.
Senior Brady Robinson led the way with 26 points for the Bobcats. Andrew Kidd followed with 18 points. Carter Parsons and Cameron Pente added 7 points each. Byron Tackett dropped in 4 points. Grayson Hall scored 3 points. Tanner Hall finished with 2 points.
Drake Slone paced the Patriots with 14 points. Hunter Haddix added 12 points. Nick Ratliff fired in 9 points. Braxton Reade had 8 points. Raiden Richardson and Conner Napier each scored 6 points. Michael Gibson and Chance Amburgey tallied 2 points apiece.
Betsy Layne will next play on Thursday at Cordia in a 7:30 pm contest.
Knott County Central will also play at Cordia next. The Patriots will play there on Saturday in a 6 pm game.
