Hawks Knock Off Boyd County, 67-58

The Pike County Central Hawks defeated the Boyd County Lions, 67-58, on Monday night in a battle of teams ranked in the D&D Sports Mountain Top 10 in the 2A sectional tournament.

Boyd County (11-3) came into the game with the top spot, but 10th-ranked Pike County Central (8-4) pulled out a huge win.

Jaylan Rigdon led the way for the Hawks with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Jaden Stewart followed with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Peyton Compton had 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Peyton Owens dropped in 5 points. Kaden Crum fired in 3 points. Brad Biliter finished with 2 points.

Pike County Central is next scheduled to play Floyd Central in the 2A sectional tournament semifinals.

Boyd County is scheduled to play Lawrence County at home on Tuesday, January 17 in a 7:30 pm contest.
