Tug Valley Rolls Over Cameron

The 9th-ranked (A) Tug Valley Panthers picked up an early season signature win by trouncing the 7th-ranked (A) Cameron Dragons, 69-44, on Friday in the Kaydence Maynard Memorial Classic at Tug Valley High School in Naugatuck.

The Panthers (4-2) jumped out to a 19-6 lead after the opening period, but the Dragons (4-2) cut into the score a bit in the second quarter and trailed Tug Valley 28-19 at the intermission. Tug Valley then blew the game open in the third quarter, outscoring Cameron 28-11 and taking a commanding 56-30 lead after the third quarter. The Panthers cruised from that point forward.

Parker Davis paced Tug Valley with 19 points. Ashton Davis followed with 17 points. Braydun Ferris and Buddy Marcum fired in 10 points each. Johnahan Wagner scored 4 points. Aiden Armstrong added 3 points. Bryson Elia, Joey Gollihue and Carson Newsome finished with 2 points each.

The Panthers next play on Saturday, January 7, when they try avenge one of their two losses against the Logan Wildcats. The opening tip is set for 7:30 pm.
