The Lawrence County Lady Bulldogs have been turning heads this week at the Carolina Invitational in Charleston, SC.
First, Lawrence County (8-3) defeated South Carolina’s 15th-ranked team in 5A T.L. Hanna, 65-58, on Wednesday.
Kensley Feltner led the way for the Lady Bulldogs in a dominant performance with 41 points and 16 rebounds. Kaison Ward followed with 11 points. Sophie Adkins dropped in 6 points. Abby Nelson scored 5 points. Leandra Curnutte chipped in 2 points in the win.
Next, the Lady Bulldogs routed South Carolina’s top-ranked 1A team Hilton Head Christian, 62-34.
Feltner led the way again with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Ward followed with 11 points. Adkins recorded 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Curnutte added 8 points. Jada Patton had 5 points. Emmallee dropped in 3 points. Brylee Stafford and Caroline See scored 2 points each. Madison Atrip and Maynard each finished with 1 point.
Lawrence County will play Morgantown on Friday at 11 am for the tournament championship.
