Ronnie Sammons scored 24 points on 12-of-15 shooting from the field to lead the Floyd Central Jaguars to a 76-49 win over the Belfry Pirates on Wednesday in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic in Belfry.
The Jaguars (7-3) got off to a blistering start. Floyd Central led the Pirates 21-10 after the first quarter and 44-23 at the intermission. From there, Belfry (1-6) could never recover.
For Floyd Central, Braden Moore followed Sammons with 18 points, 5 assists and 7 steals. Chris Spriggs and Eric Burke netted 10 points each. Spriggs also had 6 assists in the game. Dylan Boyd and Brody Buck each chipped in 6 points.
Belfry was led by Eric Daniels’ 11 points. Cody Erwin and Noah Brown added 10 points each. Jonathan Banks dropped in 8 points. Chase Varney recorded 6 points. Kaleb Hensley and Cayden Varney finished with 2 points each.
Floyd Central will play against Huntington on Thursday at 2 pm. Belfry plays South Medina, TN at 8 pm. Both games are part of the Mountain Schoolboy Classic at Belfry High School.
