The Lady Jags have played a tough schedule to start the season and this week was no different at the Berea Holiday Tournament. In the opening round, the Lady Jaguars took on the Tates Creek Lady Commodores.
The Lady Jags placed three ladies in double figures on their way to a 51-43 victory. Floyd Central was lead by one of their seniors, Madi Meade was 4-9 from behind the 3 point line on her way to a game high 24 point performance. The next two Lady Jags in double figures both had a “double double” in points and rebounds. Senior Jada Johnson shot 57% from the floor in route to a 12 point 10 rebound performance. Sophomore Riley Jo Compton also had a strong performance with 10 point 12 rebound performance in the victory.
The Lady Commodores place two players in double figures. Senior Jada Bell scored 11 points on 4-11 shooting. Sophomore Miracle Morbley also added 11 points in the loss.
The win pushed the Lady Jags record to 9-2 on the season. Next up for Floyd Central they will play Corbin on Wednesday.
