The 9th-ranked (A) Tug Valley Panthers used a balanced attack to defeat the visiting Tolsia Rebels, 71-48, on Tuesday night in Naugatuck.
After an even first quarter, Tug Valley (2-1) outscored Tolsia, 20-8, in the second quarter to take a 36-24 lead into the locker room at the half. The Reberls (2-3) fell even further behind as Tug Valley extended the lead to 58-37 after three quarters. The Panthers cruised from there for the final margin of victory.
Tug Valley was led by Ashton Davis’ 14 points. Braydun Ferris followed with 12 points. Parker Davis fired in 10 points. Joey Gollihue and Paul Preece each dropped in 9 points. Buddy Marcum Registered 6 points and 8 rebounds. Brady Brewer chipped in 3 points. Johnathan Wagner, Aiden Armstrong, Jace Hale and Kaden Hale each finished with 2 points.
Parker Watts led Tolsia with 26 points. Dakota Blackburn had 6 points. Evan Ball and Bryson Muncy each recorded 5 points. Benjamin Clayton dropped in 4 points. David Dingess finished with two points.
Tug Valley next plays on Thursday when it travels to Spring Valley for a 7:30 pm contest. Tolsia also has a 7:30 pm game on Thursday at Prestonsburg.
