Lady Jags Off To a Fast Start in Gatlinburg

The Floyd Central Lady Jags made the pre -Christmas trip to Gatlinburg, TN to participate in the Smokey Mountain Christmas Classic. In the opening day, the Lady Jags took on Clinton County out of 4th Region and came out victorious 58-44.

The Lady Jags were led by Senior Kennedy Harvel. Harvel poured in 21 points to lead the Jags in scoring. Senior Madi Meade had a another great performance scoring 14 points in the win. The “Player of the Game” honors would go to Sophmore Riley Jo Compton. Compton had an unbelievable night. She scored 14 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Other Jags scoring were Jada Johnson with 4, Chelsea Johnson 2, Chloe Crase 2 and Allie Adkins with 1 point.

The win brings Floyd Centrals record to 7-2 on the season and 2-0 in district play. The Lady Jags play Pineville later today. The loss drops Clinton County to 3-5 on the season.
