The 5th-ranked (AAA) Wayne Lady Pioneers picked up an impressive win by knocking off Saint Albans, 50-29, on Friday out Wayne.
Wayne (4-0) jumped out to a 12-6 lead after the first quarter and then led 20-9 at the half. The Lady Pioneers kept up the pressure in the second half, outscoring Saint Albans (6-2), 30-20, to pick up a big win.
Brooke Adkins led the way with 19 points. Mikayla Stacy fired in 11 points. Laneigh Brooks added 8 points. Addie Adkins dropped in 7 points. Kiya Brown chipped in 3 points. Cheyenne Williams finished with 2 points.
Nunu Pannell paced Saint Albans with 9 points in the loss.
Wayne will next host the Chapmanville Lady Tigers on Tuesday. The opening tip is set for 6 pm.
