The Logan Wildcats pulled away in the final minutes to beat the Tug Valley Panthers, 84-75, on Tuesday at Willie Akers Arena.
Both squads went at a a fast pace all throughout the game. The back and forth battle went to the half tied at 39-39. Tug Valley (1-1) came out firing in the third period, extending its lead to nine before the Wildcats (3-1) started to reel in the Panthers. Tug Valley led 59-56 heading into the final frame, but the Wildcats made some big plays down the stretch to secure the win.
Logan was led by Scotty Browning’s 24 points and 5 assists. Garrett Williamson followed with 21 points and 4 assists. Julius Clancy scored 14 points. Jarron Glick dropped in 13 points. Drew Berry added 6 points. Derrick Browning, McCormick Ilderton and Ivan Miller each had 2 points.
Tug Valley was led by Parker Davis’ 24 points. Ashton Davis followed with 18 points and 6 assists. Joey Gollihue had 17 points. Braydun Ferris added 10 points and 5 assists. Paul Preece netted 3 points. Bryson Elia dropped in 2 points. Johnathan Wagner finished with 1 point.
Logan will next host Mingo Central on Friday. Tug Valley will welcome Belfry to Naugatuck on Friday.
