Lady Miners Drop Tolsia, 61-40

The 6th-ranked in AA Mingo Central Lady Miners used a strong second half to down the 5th-ranked in A Tolsia Lady Rebels on Saturday night at Mingo Central.

The Lady Rebels (1-2) used a strong second quarter to take a 27-23 lead into the the locker room at the half. Tolsia outscored Mingo Central 22-13 in the period.

The Lady Miners (4-0) jumped all over the Lady Rebels from that point forward. Tolsia only scored 13 points the rest of the game. Mingo Central outscored Tolsia 38-13 over the second half to blow the game open and cruise to a comfortable win.

Addie Smith led the way for Mingo Central with 23 points. Madisyn Curry was a force underneath with 22 points and 18 rebounds. Alyssa Davis followed with 8 points and 8 rebounds. DaLaney Grimmett added 6 points. Bella Hall chipped in with 2 points.

Autumn Block led Tolsia with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Emily Artrip added 7 points. Kylee Preece had 6 points. Jacey Crum and Kerigan Salmons both netted 5 points apiece.

Mingo Central will next play on Tuesday at Chapmanville. The opening tip is set for 7 pm.

Tolsia will be traveling to Hurley, VA for its next game. 7 pm is the scheduled start time.
