The Paintsville Lady Tigers got 21 points and 13 rebounds from Emilea Preece as they raced past the home standing Pike County Central Lady Hawks, 53-36, on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers (1-0) outscored the Lady Hawks (0-1) in every quarter and lead 26-16 at the end of the first half before extending the lead to the final margin in the second half.
Kylie Kinner added 18 points, including four 3-point field goals. Camryn Helton and Kali Mulcahy netted 6 points each. Emma Keeton finished with 2 points.
Pike County Central was paced by Abigail Hess and Hannah May with 11 points each. Lindsey Bowman dropped in 8 points. Emalie Tackett added 4 points. Arriana Hamilton chipped in 2 points.
Paintsville will host Betsy Layne on Monday at 7:30 pm. Pike County Central will next play at Greenup County on Saturday at 2:30 pm.
