The 4th-seeded Scott Skyhawks Had to find and claw in a 35-31 win over East Fairmont in the opening round of the playoffs. Things don’t get any easier this week as they host the 5th seed Frankfort Falcons.
The Skyhawks (10-1) trailed for much of the game last week against East Fairmont before going ahead in the final quarter.
Quarterback Matt Frye passed for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added a dazzling touchdown run in the contest. Carson Brinegar added 118 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns as well.
The Skyhawks fell behind two scores early and had to claw back for for most of the game. They won’t want to repeat that against a strong Frankfort (10-1) team this weekend.
The Falcons picked up their third shutout of the season in an opening round win over the Nicholas County Grizzlies, 14-0.
Frankfort’s only loss this season came to out-of-state foe Mountain Ridge, Md. The Falcons also have an impressive win over 6th-ranked North Marion, 41-20, earlier this season. This will be a match up of heavyweights.
The opening kick is set for Saturday at 1:30 pm.
