The 5th seed Wheeling Central Maroon Knights racked up 307 rushing yards on the way to a 41-7 12th seed Man Hillbillies on Saturday in the opening round of the Class A playoffs at Wheeling Island Stadium.
The Maroon Knights (9-1) scored at will in the first half and held a 41-0 lead in the second quarter before they began putting in substitutes. Lorenzo Ferrera led Wheeling Central with 137 yards and 2 touchdowns on only 6 carries.
Kaleb Mullins scored in the game’s final minutes on a run to give Man (7-4) its only points.
This game was originally scheduled on Friday night, but both teams agreed to move it to Saturday due to the weather.
