The Man Hillbillies start their playoff on Friday by traveling to the Northern Panhandle for a clash with the perennial powerhouse Wheeling Central Maroon Knights.
Man (7-3) comes into the playoffs ranked 12th and will be led by dual threat quarterback Jayden Brumfield.
Brumfield will be joined in the backfield by Jim Green, Dusten Baisden and Jordan Adams.
Man’s only losses are to Class AA playoff teams Independence, Chapmanville and Logan. The Hillbillies have not lost to a Class A opponent all season.
The Hillbillies will need everyone performing well to be the Maroon Knights (8-1), though.
Wheeling Central is the 5th seed and comes in looking for another state title.
The Maroon Knights will be led by Lorenzo Ferrera. He has 90 carries for 1,076 yards and 19 touchdowns. he also has 23 catches for 456 yards and 8 touchdowns.
The opening kick is set for Friday at 7:30 pm at Wheeling University.
