The Chapmanville Tigers looked to be on the ropes before reeling off four-straight wins to secure a playoff spot and a ranking of 10th.
The Tigers (7-3) will open up their playoff run as they take on defending Class AA state champs Fairmont Senior. The Polar Bears also enter the playoffs at 7-3 and a 7th-seed ranking after playing a schedule against mostly strong Class AAA foes.
The Tigers will invade Fairmont led by quarterback Brody Dalton. Dalton has completed 115-of-119 passes for 1,548 yards, 17 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. He also has 87 carries for 530 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Kohl Farmer leads the rushing attack with 1,279 yards and 21 touchdowns on 220 carries.
Adam Mullins is the leading receiver with 712 yards and 7 touchdowns with 48 receptions. Austin Adkins has 37 catches for 528 yards and 6 touchdowns. Jacob Topping has added 234 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 receptions.
Fairmont Senior is looking to win its third-straight state championship. The opening kick is set for Friday at 7:30 pm.
