The Man Hillbillies and Chapmanville Tigers both have play aspirations, but first the county rivals will take on each other on Friday at Man.
The Hillbillies (7-2) clinched a spot in the Class A playoffs last Friday with a win over Tug Valley, 24-8, and are now ranked 9th. A Man win would likely mean a home game in the first round of the playoffs.
Last week, quarterback Jayden Brumfield led man by completing 5-of-9 passes for 165 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He also had 8 carries for 53 yards and 1 touchdown.
Jordan Adams led the running attack with 88 yards and 1 touchdown on 17 carries. Jim Green had 6 carries for 73 yards.
Chris Isaacs caught 3 passes for 83 yards. Michael Ward had an 82-yard touchdown reception.
Chapmanville (6-3) is ranked 12th in Class AA after beating Mingo Central, 42-20, on Friday. The Tigers are in the playoffs with a win but will be in jeopardy with a loss.
Brody Dalton led Chapmanville on Friday. He completed 6-of-9 passes for 142 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. He also had 4 carries for 62 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Kohl Farmer had 18 carries for 106 yards and 1 touchdown. Austin Adkins caught 4 passes for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns.
This contest will be huge at determining how tow different playoff brackets look. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm in Man on Friday.
