Burchett Named East All State Soccer 1st Team

Girls Soccer players from the D&D Sports coverage area was excited with the release of the East All State Soccer Teams. These female athletes were throughout the 1st, 2nd team and honorable mention rankings.

Prestonsburg’s Anna Burchett was named to the 1st team. Burchett the states all time leader in goals scored, once again led the state in this category. In 21 games, Burchett scored 79 goals and recorded 28 assists. The senior lead her team to a 18-2-1 record and the Regional title for the 3rd time in the last 4 years.

The second team saw a trio of stars from the D&D coverage area. First is East Carter sophmore, Ellie Thomas. Thomas led the team in scoring with 42 goals and 19 assists on the season. She helped lead the Lady Raiders to a 16-7-1 record and the 16th Region title.

Next on the second team is Bourbon County’s Senior Lila Steen. Steen lead the Lady Colonels in scoring with 30 goals. The Lady Colonels finished the season with an 11-7-2 record.

Finally, rounding out the second team was Ashland sophomore Kenleigh Woods. Woods led the Kittens in scoring with 32 goals on the season as Ashland finished with a 16-3-2 record on the season. Ashland lost in the 1st round of the 16th region tournament in a thriller in 2OT to East Carter 3-2.

Lakin Bentley – Johnson Central

Camryn Helton – Paintsville
