Raceland Runs Past Paintsville

The Raceland Rams used a balanced offense and stingy defense to handle the Paintsville Tigers, 38-14 on Friday at Raceland.

Overall, the Rams (8-1) gained 410 total yards while holding Paintsville (4-5) to 303 total yards.

Quarterback Logan Lundy completed 9-of-16 passes for 155 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. He also carried the ball 9 times for 42 yards.

Noah Wallace led the rushing attack with 12 carries for 73 yards and 1 touchdown. Isaac Browning had 12 carries for 63 yards. Connor Hughes had 4 carries for 33 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jaxon Heighton had 3 carries for 24. Jules Farrow had 22 yards on 7 rushing attempts.

Hughes also had 56 yards and 1 touchdown on 2 catches. Mason Lykins added 5 catches for 54 yards. Landyn Newman had 1 catch for 29 yards. Isaac Browning added 1 catch for 11 yards. Parker Fannin had 3 yards on 1 catch.

Lykins, Hughes and Farrow each had interceptions on defense with Lykins returning his for a touchdown.

The Rams will hit the road next week for a battle with Lawrence County (8-1). The open kick is set for 7:30 pm on Friday in Louisa.

Paintsville will next play Pike County Central (3-6) at home on Friday at 7:30 pm.
