The Tug Valley Panthers host the Westside Renegades in a clash with major playoff implications in Class A.
The Panthers (5-2) are coming off a 32-7 loss to Mount View. The loss pushed them back to 15th place in the Class A rankings and a win is necessary to keep Tug Valley in good position for a playoff spot.
The Tug Valley offense will be led by Elijah Fluty. Last week, Fluty was 10-of-22 for 147 yards. He will want to avoid a repeat of a season-high 3 interceptions. He also had 7 carries for 32 yards.
Fluty will be joined in the backfield by Adam Slone and Bryson Elia. Against Mount View, Slone had 136 yards and 1 touchdown on 16 carries. Elia finished with 29 yards on 10 carries but has put up huge numbers at times this season.
The Renegades (2-5) lost 62-13 to Class AA power Nicholas County. Westside is looking to get back into the win column.
The Renegade offense will be led by quarterback Kadien Vance. Last week, Vance completed 5-of-10 passes for 37 yards.
Dale Bledsoe didn’t find much room last week, but he he leads all Westside rushers with 272 yards on 28 carries. Kyler Kenneda has been Vance’s top target this season. Last week, he had 3 catches for 23 yards.
The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm at Bob Brewer Stadium in Naugatuck.
