Mingo Central Looks To Surprise Herbert Hoover

The Mingo Central Miners are looking to win their third straight game, but standing in their way is a trip to 13th-ranked Herbert Hoover.

The Miners (3-4) will be led by junior quarterback Chris Ross. Ross was 10-of-18 passing for 265 yards and 4 touchdowns in Mingo Central’s win over Shady Spring. He also rushed for 34 additional yards.

Dylan Vance led the rushing attack with 131 yards and 1 touchdown on 17 attempts. He also had 2 catches for 86 yards and 1 touchdown. Jake Cline added 7 carries for 48 yards and 1 touchdown.

Maliki Sheppard led all receivers with 3 catches for 114 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Herbert Hoover (4-2) comes into the contest after winning their last 4 games after starting the season 0-2. Quarterback Dane Hatfield is a dual threat quarterback that will pose a huge test for the Miner defense.

The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm on Friday at Herbert Hoover.
