The Logan Wildcats and Chapmanville Tigers will clash in a battle for bragging rights and playoff positioning for each team.
The 11th-ranked Wildcats (6-2) have played without star Jaxon Cogar the past two weeks. Cogar is 86-of-138 passing for 1,082 yards, 12 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Cogar has also rushed for 358 yards and 3 touchdowns on 69 carries.
If Cogar can’t play, Drew Berry will handle the duties under center. Berry is 35-of-57 passing for 448 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
Aiden Slack is Logan’s top receiver. So far, he has caught 38 passes for 546 yards and 8 touchdowns. Garrett Williamson has 468 yards and 3 touchdowns on 39 catches. Julius Clancy has 22 catches for 344 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Chapmanville (4-3) comes into this game ranked 16th after a dramatic, 26-21, win at Wayne.
The Tigers are led by quarterback Brody Dalton. Against Wayne, Dalton was 12-of-24 for 166 yards and 1 interception. Dalton also had 10 carries for 56 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Kohl Farmer will lead the rushing attack. Against Wayne, Farmer had 13 carries for 79 yards and 1 touchdown.
Adam Mullins added 5 catches for 76 yards and has been Chapmanville’s top receiver this season. Jacob Topping had 4 catches for 46 yards. Austin Adkins has also been one of Dalton’s top targets and had 2 catches for 30 yards.
Both teams desperately need this win to secure playoff positioning. Kickoff is set for 7 pm on Friday in Chapmanville.
