The Wildcats of Shelby Valley had an all around impressive game last Friday versus the Warriors of East Ridge. The Wildcats had 222 rushing yards, 232 passing yards, and allowed only 28 rushing yards.
It was a battle of the quarterbacks all night. Russ Osborne from Shelby Valley threw for 203 yards on 7 completions and had 4 passing touchdowns. Warriors QB Dylan Burdine threw 18 completions for 243 yards and 3 touchdowns. Brady Johnson had 1 pass for 29 yards for the Wildcats.
For Shelby Valley, John Fields caught 2 touchdown passes for 94 yards. Brady Bentley had 88 receiving yards and a touchdown. Kolton Stamper had 29 yards on 1 catch. Ethan Mullins caught a 12 yard touchdown pass. Jesse Cook added 9 yards on one catch.
Along with 4 receiving touchdowns, the Wildcats also scored 4 rushing touchdowns. Russ Osborne ran the ball 6 times for 91 yards and a touchdown. Brett Sturgill carried the ball 5 times for 49 yards. Jayden Newsome had a rushing touchdown and 48 yards on 7 carries. Jordan Ratliff carried the ball once for an 18 yard touchdown and Brady Johnson ran in a 6 yard touchdown.
Kicker Trey Compton went 8 for 9 PATs.
Russ Osborne packed on his stats for the night with a fumble recovery and he caught two interceptions for an extra 50 yards and another touchdown. Lincoln Billiter had 10 tackles and 2 sacks. Jordan Ratliff also had 10 tackles.
The Wildcats (6-2) travels to Bath County this Friday, Oct. 21.
Along with Dylan Burdine’s 3 touchdown passes, he also led his team in rushing with 59 yards on 11 carries. Gabe Mullins ran 7 times for 12 yards and Zack Mason had a 4 yard run.
Zack Mason caught 8 of Burdine’s passes for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns. Gabe Mullins had 46 yards on 3 catches. Jacob Ferran caught the ball once for a 38 yard touchdown. Landon Robinson had 3 catches for 23 yards and Isaiah Adkins caught the ball 3 times for 20 yards.
Nathan Martin had a fumble recovery.
Isaiah Adkins had 6 tackles for the Warriors. Brody Wallace, Gabe Mullins, Dylan Burdine, and Zack Mason all had 4 tackles each.
East Ridge (3-5) plays at West Carter Oct. 21.
