The Tug Valley Panthers fell behind early and could never recover as they dropped a 32-7 decision to the Mount View Golden Knights on Friday at Bob Brewer Stadium in Naugatuck.
Mount View (2-5) outscored the Panthers (5-2), 18-0, in the first period and then 14-7 in the third period.
Tug Valley’s only score in the game came in the 3rd quarter, but the Golden Knights led from beginning to end.
Elijah Fluty was 10-of-22 passing for 145 yards and 3 interceptions for the Panthers. He also carried the ball 7 times for 32 yards.
Adam Slone had 132 yards and 1 touchdown on 16 carries. Bryson Elia added 29 yards on 10 attempts.
Ashton Davis had 3 catches for 83 yards. Brady Brewer had 4 receptions for 61 yards. Elia had 2 catches for 1 yard. Hubert Marcum added 1 reception.
Defensively, Marcum had 7 tackles to lead the way for Tug Valley.
For Mount View, Jaylen Hall had 4 catches for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hall also had 7 carries for 69 yards.
The Panthers will look to rebound next week by hosting Westside (2-5), who fell at Nicholas County, 62-13, this week. The kickoff is set for 7:30 pm on Friday.
