The Chapmanville Tigers hope to climb back into the Class AA playoff picture this week, but standing in their way is a visit to Wayne for a clash with the Pioneers.
Chapmanville (3-3) is coming off a bye week. The Tigers lost to Herbert Hoover, 42-33, in their previous meeting. They were ranked 19th this week in the WVSSAC Class AA Rankings.
Chapmanville is led by Kohl Farmer. So far this season, Farmer has 729 yards and 14 touchdowns on 130 carries.
Quarterback Brody Dalton will guide the Tiger offense. Dalton is 77-of-130 passing for 975 yards, 10 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He also has 58 carries for 332 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Dalton’s favorite target is Adam Mullins. So far this season, Mullins has 36 catches for 507 yards and 5 touchdowns. Austin Adkins has 257 yards on 22 catches and 2 touchdowns. Jacob Topping has 15 receptions for 193 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Wayne (3-4) comes into the contest ranked 21st this week in the WVSSAC Class AA rankings and is coming off a 40-12 loss to Herbert Hoover.
The Pioneers are led by Jaxson Damron who has 606 yards and 12 touchdowns on 108 carries. Braylon Gilliam has 221 yards and 1 touchdown on 50 carries.
Quarterback Grady Spradlin has been injured. If healthy, Spradlin has thrown for 304 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception on 30-of-41 passing. Josh Dingess will handle the duties if Spradling can’t play. So far, Dingess 15-of-27 for 185 yards, 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
Wayne’s top receiver is Rylen Murdock with 18 catches for 249 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The opening kick is set for 7 pm at Wayne.
