The Tomcats only allowed 93 rushing yards in their win over the East Carter Raiders last Friday night. Freshman Cameron Davis led his team with 11 of the 60 total team tackles.
LaBryant Strader threw the rock for 158 yards and had 3 touchdown passes. Brandon Houston caught two of those TD passes and Terrell Jordan caught the other. Houston had 110 yards on 5 receptions and Jordan had 18 yards on 2. Asher Adkins added 16 yards on one catch and Braxton Jennings had 14 yards on one reception.
Ashland Blazer had 174 total yards on the ground. Braxton Jennings carried the ball 16 times for 134 yards and ran in a touchdown. LaBryant Strader had 19 yards on 7 carries. Atayveon Thomas rushed for 11 yards on 4 attempts. Asher Adkins carried the ball once for 6 yards and Brandon Houston added 4 yards on one carry.
Kicker Jake Sexton went 5-5 PATs
Along with Cameron’s 11 tackles, Landon Davis and Sawyer Edens each had 8 tackles. Isaiah Ingram added 7 tackles and had a sack. Jared Brown had 6 tackles. Kahil Vaughn and Jackson Billups had 5 tackles each. Terrell Jordan had 4 tackles. Atayveon Thomas and Cole Christian added 3 tackles a piece.
Ashland Blazer (4-4) is back in action at home versus Russell on Oct.14.
East Carter (5-2) plays Greenup County at home on Oct. 14.
