The Mingo Central Miners (8-3-1) picked up two big wins in recent soccer action.
First, the Miners defeated Chapmanville, 7-1, on Thursday.
Mingo Central jumped on the Tigers and never let up. The Miners out scored Chapmanville, 4-1, in the first half and tacked on 3 more goals in the second half.
Peyton Sansom led the way with 3 goals and 1 assist. Kelan Wallace had 2 goals and 1 assist. Kenden Trent added 1 goal and 1 assist. Jacob Blankenship finished with 1 goal. Brayden Thacker added 2 assists. Blake Stacy had 1 assist.
The Miners also toppled Bluefield, 4-0, on Saturday.
After a scoreless first half, Mingo Central exploded for 4 goals in the second half.
Sansom had 2 goals in the win. Trent recorded a goal and an assist. Wallace had 1 goal.
Zack Krise had a shutout in goal, picking up 5 saves.
Mingo Central will next play at Chapmanville on Tuesday.
