Following behind Double Kwik ”Player of the Week” Martin County’s Brock Messer our region also has some other amazing performances last week.
Our first Prime Time Performer was Scott Quarterback Matt Frye. Frye one of the top quarterbacks in the D&D coverage area showed why as he threw his Skyhawks to victory 34-6 over Mingo Central. Frye was 21-35 for 324 yards and 5 touchdowns in the victory.
Next we travel to Letcher County KY as dual threat quarterback Jonah Little put on a show against Harlan County. Little was 11-18 passing for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns while he rushed for 111 yards and 3 touchdowns on 13 carries. The Letcher Central Cougars went on the easy victory 45-6.
Our next stop is in Rowan County where opposing offenses have come to fear the Vikings Byron May. Against Holmes, the Vikings star had 4 sacks to bring his state leading total to 12. He also chipped in with 10 total tackles (4 solo and 6 for loss). He helped lead the Vikings to the 14-12 victory.
Our final stop is with Betsy Layne’s sensational senior running back Reese Music. Reese continues his torching of opposing defenses as his Bobcats visited Hurley and walked out with the victory 36-28. Music continues to lead Class “A” in rushing after his 262 yard 4 TD performance. Music did this on 22 carries. Music also added 11 Tackles (5 solo and 1 for loss).
