Double Kwik “Player of the Week” – Week 7

When you think of those ground and pound offense in the mountains, several schools come to mind like Belfry, Johnson Central and Martin County. This season Martin County leads Class 2A in rushing with over 338 yards per game on the ground. This weeks “Player of the Week” comes from the Martin County backfield.

Against East Ridge, Junior Brock Messer for 302 yards on 17 carries while scoring 5 touchdowns. Messer is an outstanding defensive back had an 72 yard interception returned for a touchdown. Messer’s performance helped to led his Cardinals to the 57-22 victory over the Warriors and earned him the Double Kwik “Player of the Week” honors.
