The 2nd-ranked Spring Valley Timberwolves used a strong defensive effort to shut out the South Charleston Black Eagles, 17-0, on Friday in South Charleston.
After a scoreless first quarter, Bruin Booth found his way into the end zone on a 2-yard run to put Spring Valley (5-0) ahead, 7-0, with 8:17 left in the first half. Neither teams scored until halftime.
The Timberwolves added to their lead when South Charleston (0-5) fumbled the ball into the end zone and Cam Bailey recovered it to make it a 14-0 lead. The Timberwolves added a Landon Mosser field goal early in the fourth quarter for the final margin of victory.
