The Martin County Cardinals racked up 548 yards on the ground to roll past the visiting East Ridge Warriors, 57-22, on Friday.
The Cardinals (4-2) did not complete a single pass, but still outgained the Warriors (2-4) in total yards by a margin of 548-398
Brock Messer led Martin County with 305 yards and 5 touchdowns on 17 carries. Madden Miller had 8 carries for 83 yards. Christopher Phillips had 68 yards and 1 touchdown on 10 carries. Dawson Mills carried the ball 8 times for 53 yards. Jaquan Rufus finished with 37 yards and 1 touchdown on 4 attempts. Weston Jude added 5 yards on 6 carries.
Messer also returned a kickoff for a touchdown and converted on 4 PAT kicks.
For East Ridge Dylan Burdine completed 16-of-28 passing attempts for 268 yards and 1 interception.
Isaiah Adkins had 12 carries for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns. Burdine had 9 carries for 44 yards and 1 touchdown. Nathan Martin added 4 yards on 2 attempts.
Brad Howell led all receivers with 160 yards on 6 catches. Adkins had 2 catches for 44 yards. Jacob Ferran finished with 3 receptions for 34 yards. Zack Mason added 3 catches for 18 yards. Gabe Mullins had 1 catch for 7 yards. Landon Robinson recorded 1 catch for 5 yards.
Martin County will travel to Shelby Valley (4-2) this Friday for an important District clash at 7:30 pm.
East Ridge will host Bath County (1-5) on Friday. The opening kick is set for 7:30 pm.
