Bledsoe Powers Westside Over Liberty-Raleigh

Senior Dale Bledsoe exploded for 274 yards on the ground and scored 4 touchdowns in Westside’s 38-22 win at Liberty-Raleigh on Friday in Glen Daniel.

Bledsoe, who only had 2 carries coming into the contest, had 22 rushing attempts and took advantage of the opportunity. In fact, Bledsoe now leads the Renegades (2-4) for rushing yards on the season after his performance.

Westside jumped on Liberty-Raleigh early and outscored the Raiders (1-4) 20-8 in the first half. The Renegades moved the lead to 32-16 after three periods.

“It was a great win for us,” said Westside head coach Justin Cogar. “We have really struggled the last few weeks, and our coaching staff challenged the team this week to have our best week of practice. We did that. I think our preparation was much better and we came out ready to put together four solid quarters of football.”

For Westside, Kadien Vance was 3-of-9 passing for 71 yards. He also had 11 rushing attempts for 23 yards and 2 touchdowns. Parker Lambert had 31 yards on 4 carries.

Bledsoe also led the Renegade receivers with 1 catch for 40 yards. Lambert finished with 1 catch for 16 yards. Ivan Clay had 15 yards on 1 catch.

Defensively, Lambert had 12 tackles, including 2 tackles for a loss. Isaac Price had 10 tackles. Hunter Lester and Dakota Martin had 8 tackles apiece.

Westside now goes into a bye week, but in two weeks, that will take on Nicholas County on the road.
